A self-taught artist from Palestine, Texas Orlando Guillen has always made art since he can remember. Orlando currently works on cars and has been for the past 9 years in a body shop in Palestine. He sees the amount of metal that gets tossed out that cannot be fixed. Orlando being an artist he gives these metals one more chance and makes art with them. Just with a little love and time anything can be fixed. Orlando says with this art that he is making Orlando hopes people can enjoy the beauty of time and love.
Orlando currently has art in his hometown at Wells Creek Crossing in Palestine. Gallery’s featuring his work are 211 Art Gallery in Athens, TX and Artfix in Tyler, Tx.
His Metal Sculpture “Lost Beauty” won People’s Choice in “That’s Moving” Exhibit at 211 Art Gallery in Athens, TX. “Las Rosita’s” mixed media on canvas took home second place and “Home” 3-D sculpture took first place at the “Local inspirations” Exhibit at 211 Art Gallery in Athens, TX.
Solo Exhibition at the Wright Twins Gallery was held on Nov 2, 2019 in Dallas, Tx.
He has been featured in Voyage Dallas Magazine, Palestine Magazine and on the Cover of County Line Magazine.
