This piece was inspired by Hokusai’s iconic masterpiece, The Great Wave off Kanagawa, a painting that captures the overwhelming power of nature against the fragility of human life.
In my interpretation, I placed my wife and myself in the boat, navigating the towering waves. The ocean represents the challenges, uncertainties, and constant struggles artists face while trying to make an impact in today’s world. Every wave symbolizes rejection, doubt, competition, and the obstacles that stand between a dream and reality.
Yet, despite the storm, we keep moving forward.
This painting is about perseverance, partnership, and the belief that our journey is worth fighting for. It’s a reflection of what it means to continue creating, even when the odds feel overwhelming.
